Launching futures: Embarking on excellence with our transformative graduate scheme
With a master’s in chemical engineering, Samuel Edwards started his first placement within the Process Engineering team at our manufacturing site, Rawcliffe Bridge. UK, As the graduate’s first industry-based job, here’s why Croda stood out from the crowd:
“I was drawn to Croda because of its strong commitment to sustainability. As a major manufacturer of specialist chemicals utilised across various industries like pharmaceuticals and food, I saw an opportunity to contribute to the fight against climate change through the company’s ambitious Climate Positive goals. The structured graduate scheme at Croda offered me the chance to grow both personally and professionally, with rotations spanning different areas of the company, including the possibility of an overseas placement.
“Since joining Croda, I have had a range of unique experiences and have been immersed in diverse projects, from process safety to continuous improvement, allowing me to apply my skills in real-world scenarios. I have had the opportunity to throw myself headfirst into projects that utilise the chemical engineering skills I developed at university. Working alongside experienced teams has been invaluable, providing guidance and opportunities for independent project work.
“Beyond my daily responsibilities, the graduate scheme has facilitated connections with colleagues across the organisation and provided access to training and development activities. Walking out onto the plant floor and seeing the equipment firsthand has been a highlight, reinforcing the tangible impact of the projects I'm involved in.”
