Continued Investment in Innovation Partnerships
Croda International Plc, who create, make and sell innovative, sustainable, high performance speciality chemicals that are relied on by industries and consumers everywhere, has today (1 May 2019) welcomed its sponsored PhD students to present their cutting-edge research plans and findings at Croda’s global headquarters in Yorkshire, UK.
With the Company’s increased focus on its Open Innovation Programme, this event is an important component in enhancing external collaborations to develop the next generation of exciting products and technologies. The day saw the students present their studies to Croda’s senior management.
Playing a key role in developing new innovative and sustainable solutions for Croda’s customers, the students are working in a range of scientific disciplines, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical sciences, life sciences, microbiology, as well as in some ‘traditional’ areas of chemistry.
The Company has been actively growing its PhD sponsorship programme since 2012, with previous projects resulting in new products being brought to market. The programme has also seen the development of new intellectual property and the discovery of both innovative technologies and claims substantiation methods. There are now 35 students actively involved, of which 29 presented at today’s event.
