EcoVadis Gold Status for the Third Year Running
Croda, who create, make and sell innovative, sustainable, high performance speciality chemicals that are relied on by industries and consumers everywhere has this month been awarded EcoVadis Gold Status for the third year running.
Improving their score year on year, 2016 sees Croda placed not only in the top 1% of all chemical companies assessed by EcoVadis, but the top 1% of all companies assessed by the sustainability platform. EcoVadis’ assessment methodology, which
rates more than 20,000 companies, looks at environmental, labour, fair business and sustainable procurement practices.
Commenting on the assessment Chris Sayner, Vice President of Customer Alliances at Croda said: “EcoVadis is an increasingly important tool for customers across many industries in judging suppliers sustainability credentials”
“At Croda, we use EcoVadis as one of the external references for continual improvement, achieving Gold Status with our first filing three years ago we have increased our score by 15 points to 77”.
Currently, around 70% of Croda’s raw materials come from renewable sources; this is set to increase with the completion of a new manufacturing plant that will manufacture 100% bio-based products. Once complete, the new plant will give Croda’s customers access to the new ECO range, enabling them to meet consumer demands for increasingly environmentally friendly products.
