Croda celebrates Consumer Care wins

Croda International Plc, which creates, makes, and sells speciality chemicals, is pleased to share another award success, a double win for its Consumer Care business, which took the top spot in two categories at the Detex 2022 Awards.

The awards, which are the biggest event in the detergents industry in the Middle East, celebrate innovation in the sector. Demonstrating its smart science in action, Home Care won Detex 2022’s Innovation Award with Coltide™ Radiance – an innovative biopolymer that protects garments and fabrics from damage, colour loss and greying.

There was also celebration for Iberchem, Croda’s fragrances and flavours business, with Isabel Parraga, Perfumer, winning the Fragrances Creativity Award with her creation ‘Never too late’. The novel fragrance contains nearly 80% biodegradable ingredients, raw materials of natural origins and Ecocert certified natural ingredients, as well as including Iberchem's novel biodegradable encapsulation technology, Vernovacaps.

On the award win, Isabel said: “I am thrilled to have received this award, which is the result of great teamwork. Our objective was to create a powerful, sophisticated softener, that was both innovative and sustainable.

“It is a multifaceted fragrance, with high sustainability credentials, first with the sweet notes of vanilla and tolu, then, spicy notes of clove and cinnamon, the woody notes of patchouli and, finally, the floral notes of rose and ylang-ylang. All these ingredients float above a blanket of amber that gives the fragrance its long-lasting effect, which is a must for fabric softeners.”
